Nicole Taylor, deputy vice president for educational outreach and student services and dean of students at Arizona State University, has been appointed to a key vice president position at the ASU Foundation for A New American University. The appointment was announced by Gretchen E. Buhlig, chief executive officer of the ASU Foundation.

“Nicole’s diversified background of experiences and accomplishments over her career in higher education, philanthropy and community nonprofits position her as an excellent fit for this new leadership role within the foundation, and I am excited to welcome her to the team,” Buhlig said.

Taylor, who will join the foundation May 29 as vice president for strategic fundraising, will oversee the principal giving, estate and gift planning, corporate and foundation relations and Sun Devil annual giving departments. Prior to ASU, Taylor was the associate vice provost and dean of community engagement and diversity at Stanford University. Before her post at Stanford, she served as the president and CEO of the Thrive Foundation for Youth, and as the president and CEO of the East Bay Community Foundation in the San Francisco Bay Area. She earned a bachelor's degree in human biology and a master's degree in education from Stanford.

“Nicole deeply understands the mission of our university and how meaningful it is for a student to be impacted by the generosity of a donor,” ASU President Michael M. Crow said. “We’re thankful for her leadership during her tenure at ASU and look forward to her contributions to the ASU Foundation.”

“I am grateful to be part of the team of talented professionals at the ASU Foundation who are passionate about the future of higher education,” Taylor said. “I am eager to partner with our donors to advance access and excellence across the ASU community."
