Women's Golf Cards First Victory of the Season

ASU came from 12-shots back to top No. 1 UCLA and No. 2 Duke

Palo Alto, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Arizona State women's golf team came from behind to win the 2007 Stanford Intercollegiate held at the par-71, 6,092-yard Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif. ASU shot a 10-over 862 (293-293-276) in the three-round tournament to record their first tournament victory of the season. With a third round score of 8-under 276, the Sun Devils erased their second round deficit of 12 strokes to beat second-place Duke by four shots. ASU topped a talented field, featuring 10 teams ranked in the top-25 by Golfweek including No. 1 UCLA and No. 2 Duke.

Junior All-American Jennifer Osborn led the Sun Devils, shooting a three-round total of 1-under 212 (70-75-67) to finish in second place. Osborn carded five birdies and one bogey in the third round to finish one stroke off of first-place Stacy Lewis of Arkansas. Lewis shot a 2-under 211 (69-72-70) for the tournament.

Sophomore All-American Anna Nordqvist and Azahara Munoz tied for third place after firing a three-round total of 1-over 214 (76-71-67), (72,73,69) respectively. Nordqvist carded four birdies and no bogeys in the final round to tie her career low of 67.

ASU's Osborn, Munoz and Nordqvist took three of the top four positions at the Stanford Intercollegiate.

Sophomore Juliana Murcia shot a three-round total of 9-over 222 (75-74-73) to tie for 21st. Senior Camila Sola finished in 85th after shooting a three-round total of 33-over 87.

Arizona State last won the Stanford Intercollegiate in 2004 after shooting an even-par 852.
