Volleyball hires Linda Hampton-Keith as assistant coach

February 10, 2011

The Arizona State Volleyball team is proud to announce the hiring of Linda Hampton-Keith, who will assume Assistant Coaching duties of the Sun Devils starting February 7. Linda joins the Sun Devils after six successful seasons with TCU, where she helped lead the Horned Frogs to four straight winning campaigns, including back-to-back-to-back 20-win seasons while posting 102 wins and a 2009 NCAA National Championship Tournament 2nd round appearance in her tenure. Hampton-Keith also brings incredible recruiting skills, with her talented classes at TCU building a new chapter in the Horned Frogs history. In addition to her work with TCU, Hampton-Keith brings experience on the international level as well, serving in various capacities for the USA Olympic Volleyball High Performance Program as a court and lead coach for the last 10 summers.

Prior to her time at TCU, Hampton-Keith spent one year at North Texas and two years at Florida International University. Before she began her college coaching career, Linda spent 3 years as the Head Coach at P.K. Yonge Development Research School in Gainesville, Florida, which saw her lead the school to three Final Four appearances in 1999, 2000 and 2001 including the 2000 Florida State Championship in only two years time. Hampton-Keith was also named Gainesville Sun All-Area Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2000, received the Dairy Farmer's Class 2A State Coach of the Year award in 2000 and coached four players that went on to be Division I scholarship athletes.

Sun Devil Head Coach Jason Watson on the hire stated, "I believe we've been able to find an assistant who not only has a wonderful knowledge of the game, but tremendous work ethic and passion for recruiting.  Linda's addition to our program enables us in our efforts to improve the experience we provide our student-athletes at Arizona State University.  I'm thrilled Linda has agreed to be a part of our program."

The Sun Devils are excited to welcome Linda as a part of their family and look forward to the success she'll bring the program in the years to come.
