Sun Devils celebrate solar power milestone

September 20, 2011
ASU has exceeded 10 megawatts of solar-energy capacity, making it the only higher education institution in the United States to have a solar capacity of this size. A celebratory event was held at the West campus on Sept. 20.

"That's enough electricity to power about 2,500 average-sized Arizona homes," says Morgan Olsen, executive vice president, treasurer, and CFO at ASU. Olsen also says it's enough power to meet about 20 percent of ASU's peak electricity requirements.
