More than 28,000 runners unite for Pat's Run
The Pat Tillman Foundation and ASU teamed up to present the eighth annual Pat's Run, April 21, to honor the legacy of service that the late veteran and ASU alumnus Pat Tillman embodied and encouraged.
More than 28,000 runners took part in the event at ASU and in cities across the country, including Atlanta; Boise, Idaho; Boston; Indianapolis; Los Angeles; Las Vegas; Philadelphia; San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
The 4.2-mile run – symbolic of the No. 42 football jersey Tillman wore when he played for ASU – winds through the streets of Tempe and ends on the 42-yard line on Frank Kush Field inside Sun Devil Stadium.
The first finisher was Ronnie Buchanan (No. 1942) of Maricopa, Ariz. The first female finisher was Beth Ellickson (No. 357) of Glendale, Ariz. The first finisher in a wheelchair was Troy Davis (No. 120) of Queen Creek, Ariz.
