Hodge a panelist at IOM meeting on public health strategies

James G. Hodge Jr., the ASU Lincoln Professor of Health Law and Ethics and Director of the College of Law's Public Health Law and Policy Program, will participate in a committee hearing of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) on Tuesday, May 18, in Washington, D.C.

Hodge will be on the panel, "Authorities, organization, and key issues in (and between) federal, state, and local public health agencies," at the IOM Committee on Public Health Strategies to Improve Health. He will be joined by Lawrence Gostin, a professor at Georgetown University Law Center and Faculty Director of the O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, and Patrick Libbey, former Executive Director of the National Association of City and County Health Officials.

Through scholarly and applied work, Hodge delves into multiple areas of public health law, global health law, ethics, and human rights. He teaches Health Law, Ethics, and Policy, Public Health Law and Ethics, and Global Health Law and Policy at the College of Law. He also is a Faculty Fellow in the law school's Center for Law, Science & Innovation, and an affiliated faculty member in the Global Health program in the School of Human Evolution & Social Change at ASU.
