Gartner to present at law conference in D.C.

November 16, 2012

Associate professor David Gartner will give a presentation titled, “The World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and Institutional Transparency,” at the American Society of International Law’s Biennial Conference on at The George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C.

The title of the Dec. 1 conference is  “Re-Conceptualizing International Economic Law: Bridging the Public/Private Divide.”

According to conference organizers, international economic law purports to regulate and facilitate various cross-border business activities, such as exports and imports, financial transactions and foreign direct investment. However, Gartner believes the current model of economic law needs adjustment, or at least re-examination.
