CultureFest event features music, dance, food and more

In commemoration of International Education Week, Arizona State University’s West campus celebrates its third annual CultureFest@West on Thursday, Nov. 15. The event begins at 4 p.m. and continues to approximately 7:30 p.m.

Staged in the center courtyard of campus at 4701 W. Thunderbird Road, this free community event features dance performances, music, arts and crafts and a variety of culinary offerings. CultureFest@West provides an opportunity to celebrate ASU as a diverse, active place of learning, offering a wide variety of academic programs and student activities.

Among the performers are ASU student groups Oceania, Aag and Sigma Lambda Beta. Additional performances will be presented by Filipino American Association of Arizona, Feista Mexicana Dance Group, Grupo Folklorico I’naru, Axe Capoeria and Mourning Fyre.

Food will be available for purchase from Papa John’s, Island Loco, AZ Barbecue and Paletas Betty.

Family-friendly activities such as face painting, a caricature artist, henna artist and calligraphy also will be part of the day’s offerings.

There will be no charge for visitor parking at CultureFest@West. Signage will direct attendees to visitor parking. For more information, call (602) 543-5300.
