Countdown to PeopleSoft Outage

The ASU University Technology Office reminds ASU community members to conduct university business by Sept. 19 due to the PeopleSoft outage Sept. 20–25. During this time, access to many online services delivered through My ASU will be limited.

In many cases, you will be able to view your information but not make any changes to it. Here are some examples:

You will not be able to:

  • Make changes to student information
  • Make changes to HR information
  • Report work, vacation, sick hours during the outage
  • Change address/phone

You will be able to:

  • View PeopleSoft information
  • View My ASU information
  • Use Blackboard
  • Use Gmail, Google docs, apps and Outlook
  • Access My Apps
  • Access ASU Online
  • Access DARS
  • Access Sun Devil Dining and Sun Card services
  • Maintain door access

Before Sept. 20, be sure to:

  • Review individual or departmental plans for conducting university business while PeopleSoft is in read-only mode.
  • Send any final communications to your customers and staff.

Review how you will answer staff and customer questions during the outage. Remember to finish any university business by Wednesday, Sept. 19. You will not be able to make changes until after the upgrade has been completed.

    Offers information about HR department functions, including payroll, benefits, PTR and time reporting plus a “Go Live” planning calendar

    Provides outage information and includes a FAQ page, a link to the communication strategy, a list of applications unaffected by the outage, checklists to help you prepare for the outage and much more

The PeopleSoft upgrade is the first major one to the system since it was installed at ASU in 2006. The upgrade is necessary to ensure that the university continues to receive regulatory, legislative and tax-software updates for important student and human resources systems.
