College rolls out red carpet for Legal Writing Conference

March 19, 2009

The Legal Writing faculty at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law recently hosted the 9th Annual Rocky Mountain Legal Writing Conference, a three-day event that featured more than 60 presentations and drew 120 participants.

Amy Langenfeld, a clinical professor in the Legal Research and Writing Program, said the conference, held March 13-15, was a great success, from the beautiful spring weather to the plenary speech of Linda Edwards, formerly the Macon Professor of Law and Director of Legal Writing at Mercer University School of Law and newly hired Professor of Law at William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Guests were wowed by the ASU and law school campuses, especially the Rotunda and advanced technology in the classrooms, as well as the teamwork involved in smoothly organizing and presenting a major conference.

Langenfeld thanked the Legal Writing faculty - Sue Chesler, Tamara Herrera, Carrie Sperling, Stacey Dowdell, Chad Noreuil and Judy Stinson, and praised staff members Jenny Bishop, Amanda Breaux, Corey Caswell, Allan Crouch, Suzie Lynn, Estela Obregon and Laurie Ralston for their professionalism and cheerful support.
