The public is invited to join the fun at Sparky’s Big Top Carnival, Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Arizona State University’s West campus. This free event kicks off the annual ASU-wide Homecoming celebration, with events on all four Valley campuses.

Carnival attractions include a 200-foot zip line, rock wall, swing ride and trampoline. Several student organizations and campus partners will host booths featuring a variety of fun activities. Live entertainment includes a fire breather show and an acrobatic show.

Food offerings include pizza, kettle corn and shaved ice.

“Students at West have put in a lot of work planning a fun evening for members of the ASU community and Valley residents, and we invite the public to come out and join us for an enjoyable way to kick off Homecoming week,” said Sharon Smith, interim dean of students at the West campus.

The carnival takes place outdoors on Las Casas Lawn, adjacent to the new student housing complex, dining facility and fitness complex on the West campus, 4701 W. Thunderbird Road in Phoenix.

Free parking will be available for Sparky’s Big Top Carnival; signage will direct attendees to the appropriate parking area. For more information, call (602) 543-5300.

The week’s activities culminate in Tempe on Oct. 19, with the traditional Homecoming parade, block party and football game against the Washington Huskies. Additional details about the week’s activities may be found at http://homecoming.asu.edu.
