ASU, USAID helping rural Guyana out of the dark
About 1.5 billion people around the world live without electricity. The VOCTEC program, funded by USAID and led by ASU, seeks to boost solar energy infrastructure and investment by increasing awareness, knowledge and capacity of local stakeholders. Recently, ASU, USAID and Tetra Tech conducted a workshop on clean energy for policy makers in Guyana, where about 20 percent of the population has little to no access to modern energy services.
