Ahwatukee Foothills News reporter Becky Bracken encourages parents to speak to their kids about racism amid discussion about a proposed senior prank at Desert Vista High School. The prank involved seniors turning the front gates of the school into a mock southern border, complete with tortillas and police checkpoint.

Bracken reached out to family and human development expert Rebecca White from ASU’s T. Denny Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics, to explore the topic of racism a bit further. White explains ignoring the reality of what our kids see around them every day does none of our kids any favors.
