Arizona Real Estate Center changes name to Realty Studies

January 08, 2007

MESA, AZ — Arizona State University’s Arizona Real Estate Center, affiliated with the Morrison School of Management and Agribusiness at the Polytechnic campus, is changing its name to Realty Studies to better reflect the types of activities and services it provides for the real estate industry in Arizona.

“After consideration and advice from administrators, we have decided to use the name Realty Studies to reflect the basic activity in producing various studies such as the Phoenix Metro Housing Study and the Retail Study of Greater Phoenix,” said Jay Q. Butler, director of Realty Studies. “Further, it is a unique name that will provide some separation from similar activities on other ASU campuses.”

In line with the name change, the mission will better align the Realty Studies activities and services to the undergraduate real estate program.

“In addition to providing timely information for the industry to make informed real estate decisions, we also are committed to integrating creative classroom instruction and business-world application to prepare students for leadership roles in the rapidly changing real estate industry and environment,” said Butler.

“In the past, the real estate industry has provided support to the center through scholarships, internships, career opportunities and research issues, and we hope that we can maintain that relationship.”

The Web address also is changing to www.poly.asu.edu/realty. The name and Web address changes are effective immediately and will be reflected in future reports.
