All-American Jacqueline Cako takes on her toughest competition yet

Sophomore All-American Jacqueline Cako was introduced to tennis in elementary school when she began suspecting that her generous height would be a problem for her gymnastics career. Her friend's mother recommended tennis as an alternative option, and Cako ended up loving it.

"What I love most about competing … is having to solve the problem," Cako says. "I see tennis as more than a game; it's trying to figure out how to beat someone. It's more of a puzzle, and I love the competition. I usually thrive under the pressure."

The biological sciences major, who has an eye on a medical career, is competing in this year's NCAA Singles Championships in Athens, Ga.
