Marc Neveu will be joining The Design School in Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts in fall 2018 as the new program head for the school’s innovative architecture program.

As former chair of graduate and undergraduate architecture programs and current associate dean of the School of Architecture at Woodbury University in Los Angeles, Neveu brings a fresh perspective to The Design School’s rapidly evolving architecture program. The Design School recently launched ReDesign.School, a forward-thinking initiative to create a school that is more collaborative and inclusive. Neveu seeks to champion this unique approach and continue transforming the architecture program into the leading equitable program within the design world.

“Marc is the exact type of leader this school needs to evolve The Design School, educating our talented faculty and architecture students to design for the future,” said Jason Schupbach, director of The Design School. “We need a leader who both honors where the profession has been and isn’t afraid to test out new ideas that push us further. We are excited to have Marc join our school and take us to the next level.”

Under Neveu’s leadership, the undergraduate program at Woodbury University was ranked nationally by Design Intelligence for the first time in the program’s history and has moved up in the rankings the last three years. Currently the executive editor of the biannual peer-reviewed Journal of Architectural Education, the former Fulbright fellow is a widely acclaimed educator and scholar whose research considers the role of history in contemporary praxis. His essays have been published in Architecture’s Appeal, with a forthcoming manuscript slated to be published this year.

Neveu joins a growing list of new leaders within The Design School and the Herberger Institute to advance design, arts and culture at a national and global scale by building equitable, healthy and sustainable communities.
