John Risseeuw, professor emeritus in Arizona State University's School of Art, was included in two recent exhibitions that featured work from his book “BOOM!”

Risseeuw’s book includes prints from his Paper Landmine Print Project. The project involves making handmade paper and printing landmine images, facts and stories of survivors and victims on it. For the project, Risseeuw collected representative articles of clothing from landmine victims. The handmade paper is made from the clothing, minefield plant fibers and currency of mine-producing nations. Prints from the book were on exhibit in August and September at the Decatur Arts Alliance’s Book Art Illuminated in Decatur, Georgia. And St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, also showed prints from the book at its Richard F. Brush Art Gallery from Aug. 23 through Oct. 8. The prints were part of an exhibition called “Turn the Page, Sing a Line, Form a Sheet Hand Papermaking for Artistic Expression and Social Justice.”
