Tregoney Shepherd

August 26, 2015

Tregoney Shepherd, an alumna of the School of Music who graduated in 2015 with a Doctor of Musical Arts in vocal performance, joined the national touring company of “Wicked,” which is performing at Gammage Auditorium from Aug. 26– through Oct. 4. Shepherd is playing the role of the Midwife and is an understudy for the character of Madame Morrible.

"“I think the most challenging thing about performing in a long-running show is making it look fresh and energized every performance,"” says Shepherd. "“My time at Arizona State Uniersity was very helpful in teaching me how to deal with different personalities and temperaments. Understanding how to effectively make my concerns known to my directors and fellow actors without causing discord is one of my greatest skills.”"

Shepherd, a gifted actress and singer with an engaging sense of humor, recently spoke at an Artist Talk on Sept. 17 for Lyric Opera Theatre students and faculty. She shared her insights on what it is like to pursue and maintain an active career on Broadway, on national tours and in regional theatre.
