Thomas Greyeyes, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in intermedia candidate in the Arizona State University School of Art, is the winner in the visual arts category for the 2012 Big Brain Award at Phoenix New Times.

The award was created to recognize emerging local creatives. The submissions were narrowed to 15 finalists in five categories and on April 7, Greyeyes was announced as the winner in the visual arts category.

The winners of each category: design, fashion, visual art, culinary and performing art, were announced on April 7 at The Saguaro in Scottsdale during the New Times' annual Artopia celebration. Each winner will receive a $500 cash prize.

All finalists were profiled in the April 5 issue of New Times.
