Share an intimate chat with New York Times double Pulitzer Prize winner

Who: Margaret O’Connor, director of photography for The New York Times, who orchestrated the photographic coverage of the aftermath of Sept. 11, resulting in rare double Pulitzer Prizes for the newspaper in 2002.

What: Brunch with Margaret O’Connor, who will discuss “A Nation Challenged.” O’Connor will discuss The New York Times’ coverage of the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, and the war against terrorism that followed in Afghanistan and Pakistan. She will share some of the award-winning photography, the behind-the-scenes decisions that went into The New York Times' coverage of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the subsequent war against terrorism in Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as the impact such "visual news" had on America. The event is the first in a new "Art and Society" lecture series sponsored by the ASU Art Museum. Funding for the series is provided by Cave Creek residents David Forkosh and Linda Hirshman.

When: 11 a.m., March 9.

Where: Grayhawk Golf Club, 8620 East Thompson Peak Parkway, Scottsdale.

Cost: $25 per person.
